Solar Irradiation Reference

The Solar Irradiance Reference signal on Inverters represents the irradiance for that specific inverter. This signal is used in many KPIs for inverters.

The irradiance value is found by using a cascading order of data sources. If data does not exist for the primary source, the next data source will be used, and so on. The default behavior will prioritize the reference pyranometers configured on the inverter. For more information, see Remarks.

The order of data sources can be configured per inverter and can include any source of Irradiance data. Please contact Greenbyte support to get help with the configuration.

Remarks

The default order of Irradiance data sources:

  1. Inverter irradiance - In some solar sites, the inverter itself has a value of Irradiance. In those not very common cases, that value is prioritized.

  2. Primary reference pyranometer(s)

  3. Secondary reference pyranometer(s)

  4. Tertiary reference pyranometer(s)

  5. Average irradiance of all pyranometers on site

  6. SolarGIS data - SolarGIS is a marketplace add-on that adds irradiance data based on meteorological models

is the Solar irradiance reference

I

is the Irradiance from the inverter

Ipyr,primary

is the Irradiance from the Primary reference pyranometer, or an average (if several pyranometers are set)

Ipyr,secondary

is the Irradiance from the Secondary reference pyranometer, or an average (if several pyranometers are set)

Ipyr,tertiary

is the Irradiance from the Tertiary reference pyranometer, or an average (if several pyranometers are set)

Ipyr,i

is the Irradiance from a pyranometer/met mast i on the site

Isolargis

is Meteorological Irradiance data from the SolarGIS add-on
