Potential Power Irradiance Only

This signal calculates the potential power given Irradiance and Capacity. Irradiance cut-in and degradation are also applied if the corresponding metadata values are available.

Required metadata fields:

  • DC Capacity (kWp) (Inverter metadata 7)

Optional metadata fields:

  • Availability Irradiance Cut-In (W/m2) (Inverter metadata 8)

  • Degradation Factor (Site metadata 10) - degradation skipped if missing

  • Commissioning Date (Inverter metadata 23) - degradation skipped if missing

Equation

For each time step, it is calculated like this:

Pp+

is the Potential Power Irradiance Only, clamped to the positive part

I

is the Solar Irradiance Reference for each time step

Cut-inIA

is the Availability Irradiance Cut-In (W/m2) (Inverter metadata 8) and applied to the irradiance if it exists.

ISTC

is irradiance used under Standard Test Conditions (1000 W/m2)

CDC

is DC Capacity (kWp) (Inverter metadata 7)

degrade

If the degradation factor and Commissioning Date metadata values are available, the degradation will be applied to the resulting potential power.
